Custom framing can be expensive and potentially damaging for delicate needlework projects. You can easily frame your work yourself, using safe, conservation materials and techniques. This workshop will teach you how to wash your stitching properly, how to block it, stretch it, and mount it securely. You can then add your own purchased mats, glass and frames for enhanced presentation. Conservation techniques will be taught and hands-on practice provided.
Date: Sunday October 1, 2017 from 1:30 to 3:30
Location: The (old) Needle Gnome at 43 Mill St. East, Acton, ON
Cost: $20, paid at workshop.
Registration by E-mail. Simply contact us and we will reserve your place. Maximum of 10 students.

Delve into the wonderful world of wool applique by making an embroidered pin cushion. Soft, warm, felted wool is applied without the need for turned edges! You will make a large tomato-style flower pin cushion in a personal colour scheme, selecting from a huge assortment of fabrics. You will then embroider using 5 simple stitches: stab, running, chain, blanket and French knots.  Add a pretty button to complete this sewing aid.
